Rough Start 2015

Well…let’s just say my 2015 didn’t start of with a bang. Rather it started off quite terribly. Hence my absence.

I came home from vacation to discover that my fridge had died. Which means everything in my fridge had rotted, fermented and started to grow. It was awful. Truly truly awful. On top of that, as I am sitting here typing this, I just noticed my floor is bubbling where the fridge is, life is a bit upside down for me right.

Yesterday was the first opportunity I had to sew this year. I am trying to get these preschool quilts done before February 2nd. Wish me luck!

At least the quilt is happy to offset the deep depression that is setting in over my homeowner issues.  I hope your year has gotten off to a better start than mine.

As a student I moved in to an apartment where a fridge had been switched off and the door left closed. In the fridge were some sausages. Not pretty and the worst smell. So I feel your pain and send you best wishes for a good year. Can’t we just start again?

  2. Melissa, my 2015 isn’t off to a great start either. House hasn’t sold in TX, Hubby living in a Hotel and it’s getting expensive quick in IL, lost my driver’s license sometime over the holiday, and Tuesday my cell phone decided to quit! Lost almost all my contacts I added in the last 6 months, plus have to send phone in to apple as it’s under warranty. UGH!!!! The weather is dreadful cold outside! Have I whined enough?!! I’m like you, I’ve been working on some quilts to make my life seem a little more sun-shiney! Not sure it’s helping but at least I’m getting a few things done. It WILL get better for both of us!

Oh, no, the floor, too! Hopefully, that can wait until spring. The quilt IS happy, and I know you will get it finished on time. I hope that working on it will bring back your quiet, happy place.

Ugh, that is the pits. Hope that is the only hiccup you have this year!

That is not a fun way to come home from vacation! I love the bright handprint quilt though!

I hope getting back to your sewing/quilting brings you some sunshine!

  11. Judy says:

I am so sorry this happened to you that is truly awful. I always hope nothing like that happens when I leave home for any length of time. Hopefully things will get back to normal as time goes on. Your quilt is so cute with the handprints.

  12. Hey there!!
I am so very sorry that all of this is happening at the same time. Sit down and make a plan and take that first step to get it done, and it will go a long way towards making you feel like you’ve got a handle on things. and steam the heck out of that fridge! 🙂 We actually used screws to just hold the bubbled floor down under our frig when it had a leak. No need to replace the flooring until YOU’RE ready to do it. Dont let that frig push you around! XX!!
