A Little Handwork

I find handwork relaxing and cathartic. How about you?

This past weekend I sewed forty-nine 1″ hexagons into seven flowers. These will be turned into individual mug rugs for seven special women in Anne’s life. I am excited to make these because in some ways they represent a beginning and an end in our lives.  Here are some in progress pictures from the weekend. Today I start the machine work – time to Quilt!

What lovely mug rugs they will be. I do so love hexies and always have the makings of 1″ and 1/4″ hexies in my on-the-go pouch ready to sew whenever I want to pull out a hand sewing project.

Lucky teachers! And lucky Anne to have had these wonderful women in her life. They will love these. That’s a lot of hexagons in one weekend!
