Welcome to week 4 of the year! I normally want to get these posts up on Mondays, but my husband had the day off work on Monday and I spent the day with him and Anne instead of blogging. Family comes first, right?
I am happy to report that I finished last week’s goal, but I won’t be showing it to you until the finishes party for A Lovely Year of Finishes. How is your goal coming along?
This week I want to work on my Riley Blake Challenge quilt for The Modern Quilt Guild. You can read about the Challenge here. I’m really excited because my top is done and I love how it turned out. I added white for a solid and some more basics that I happened to have in my stash and the red chevron that I bought to go with the challenge. The challenge is to use the fabrics that Riley Blake provided. You can add in any brand solids and any other Riley Blake prints that you like. Here is what I have so far:
I am seriously in love. I am not quite sure what I will do with this quilt when it is finished but whatever happens with it I am sure it will be loved.
My goal for this week is to get the back made and get the quilt basted. I have no idea what I am going to do for the backing yet, but I would like to incorporate the 2 challenge fabrics that I did not use on the front. There is no requirement to use all 6 fabrics that were provided, but it would be nice to do so.
What are you working on this week?
That’s seriously beautiful! I really love the star within a star.
I love it Melissa! In fact, you have inspired me to use the rest of my Riley Blake fabric. Will you be selling a pattern for this?
Love your quilt! I love the added colors you did.
I love the fabrics and design of this quilt!
It is really pretty.
Just beautiful!! Good luck with your new goals!
Stunning star!
yes, family comes first.
your quilt is so pretty.
I am working on my goal that I set for this month for a lovely finish. I am actually getting further along on the quilt that I set the goal for which is great.
This is totally beautiful Melissa! I love the rainbow colours!
Week 4 already? Seriously?! ARGH! Love the star though, and it looks like you all had loads of fun yesterday from the IG pics 🙂
It is so good looking! Great color hues and love the star shape. I’m working on making another set of bee blocks for someone who had to drop out of the bee.
Loving your quilt! Great fabrics and pattern!! I am learning to paper piece New York Beauty in a class that started today – hard to remember to do everything backwards!! I am also working on quilting a customer’s quilt – lots of ruler work 🙂
Family first is the rule. =) Your star is terrific. I hope you do make a pattern for it. Whatever you do for quilting will make it even better. I’d say you met the challenge!
It`s absolutely beautiful!
Family always comes first.
Really love how your RB challenge is turning out,it is like a burst of spring, which I for one can sure use right about now! Congratulations on your goal finishes, keep it up!
