10 Sewing Days Left…

Let me start out with an apology. This week I haven’t been able to get on email at all. Anne has been having some pretty complicated health stuff going on, in fact today we are running up to the army hospital because in the last week she has broken out in hives 3 separate times and we don’t know why and tomorrow morning we head up for an emergency kidney ultrasound.  Email has taken a bit of a backseat, but I want everyone to know I am reading every comment and I truly appreciate every single one of them.  That being said, I distracted myself from all of this crummy health stuff yesterday.

I have 10 sewing achine days left before I leave for the holidays. This naturally means that I should start a new quilt project that will need to be finished before I leave…right?

Charming Christmas Quilt - https://www.sewbittersweetdesigns.comPictured above are 154 Christmas charms and 14 solid white charms. I participated in A LOT of charm swaps 2 years ago. In fact I probably have enough left that I could make a second quilt this same size!  I’ve decided to name this quilt the “Charming Christmas Quilt.”

This quilt will be for 2 very special people in our lives and I am excited because I have never made one for them before. I know this will go together quickly. Hoping to have the top 100% done tomorrow during preschool and nap time. Then I just need to figure out a backing and quilt it. Easy…right?!?

Are you quilting anything special in the last few days running up to Christmas?

So sorry to hear about Anne! I hope they find out what is going on and can get it treated quickly!

  2. Kathy says:

I’m so sorry that Anne is having such a difficult time right now. I’m sending good thoughts your way.
I just started a Christmas quilt last night. Simple 6.5 inch blocks, but really no chance to get it done before Christmas. Oh, well. At least it is getting me into the Christmas spirit!

Good luck and I so hope things get better for the little one.

  3. Lisa L. says:

Hope they get you some answers on her this week. I know that you will get this done with no problem and it will be beautiful! They will love it!

  4. Sondra says:

I truly hope that they find out what is happening with Anne. I am thinking of all of you. XXXXXXXXXXXXX

  5. Lisa C in Dallas says:

I think I was in that same charm swap because I recognize a lot of those charms. In fact, we’re in Day 4 of ice here in Dallas so I chopped up some of those charms into 2.5″ squares with the hopes of making a postage stamp Christmas quilt. I do not want to sit down and figure out how many squares will make a decent sized lap quilt….Hope Anne is better soon!

  6. Missy says:

I love it! One day I will make a charm quilt!

  7. Katy says:

Eek on the health front, hope you get it figured out! Can you maybe also figure out my stress eczema while you’re at it, as I haven’t had time to get to the docs and it’s itchy! Anywho, good luck on the charming quilt!

  8. CeLynn says:

    Saying prayers for Anne.
Right 😉 You can do it!

  9. Susan says:

Here’s hoping Anne’s troubles are small and disappear quickly. Isn’t it interesting that you have something in common with so many generations of women – when there’s worry, we quilt! Love your charming quilt. =) I still have one table runner to do.

  10. Anne says:

Sewing is a wonderful distraction. I am so glad you have good doctors to depend on. They will figure out how to help her. The hives are kind of uncomfortable. I hope Anne is all cleared up really soon. No, am not sewing for the rest of the month. I had lots of company for Thanksgiving weekend and I am having more company for Christmas. Then there is that thing called work… ( truly grateful to have a job though)

  11. Lisa Lisa says:

I can’t get over how much you accomplish! Amazing! I sure hope that Anne’s hives are cleared up soon, and that they find a reason for her kidney issues. I’m sure it’s worrying you a lot more than it’s worrying her! Can’t wait to see your finished quilt!

  12. Marcia Herath says:

Praying for Anne and you. Hope they figure out what the problemis and can get her back to normal soon.

  13. Ella says:

Crossing my fingers for Anne and sending lots of love your way!

  14. Jane F says:

I am trying to get a table runner ready

  15. Michele W says:
